What is Iconography in UI Design?
Icons save space, and reduce cognitive load by removing the need to re-read the same piece of information against every listing, reducing friction.
Icons are small graphical symbols. In icon design, a graphic symbol represents real and abstract entities or actions.
In web or mobile design, they are important for explaining user interface functions, helping with navigation, improving design and conveying brand values. Additionally, as society transitions to smaller screens, icons enable us to express a lot without using words. This enables us to increase useful touchpoints without compromising the user experience as a whole.
